(KAIR)--Local law enforcement was kept busy this past weekend with the 17th Annual Amelia Earhart Festival taking place in Atchison.
Despite a record crowd at this year’s Lakefest Concert on Friday night, Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says all the incidents they responded to were relatively minor…(Play audio)
Wilson says EMS crews responded to a few heat-related issues during the concert, but that none of them were serious.
Wilson adds that Saturday evening was fairly quiet, with no DUI arrests made by the department in connection with the festival.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie echoed those sentiments, saying there were no major incidents worked by his department either.

As far as Saturday was concerned, Laurie says the increased traffic restrictions in the downtown area were a major help in preventing incidents
