(KTNC) - Two northwestern Missouri residents escaped with minor injuries when the pickup they were in went off the highway Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 51-year-old Marlene Thummel of Tarkio was driving the 2004 Dodge Dakota northbound on Highway 275, three miles south of Hamburg, Iowa, when the vehicle swerved off the road and went down an embankment.
Thummel and her daughter, 12-year-old Haley Berry were taken by private vehicle to Grape Memorial Hospital in Hamburg for treatment of minor injuries. The Patrol says both were wearing seat belts at the time.
The pickup sustained minor damage and was later driven from the scene. The accident happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
