(KNZA)--A rural Hoyt residence goes up in flames Thursday afternoon, sending Jackson County area rescue crews to the scene.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, it happened shortly before 4:15 at 14191 126th Road, with the sheriff's office joined at the scene by firecrews including Hoyt, Mayetta, Potawatomi Tribal, and Soldier. Jackson County EMS also responded, along with the Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office, which is assisting with the investigation.
No injuries are reported, and Morse says initial findings indicate that the fire was accidental, but the actual cause remains undetermined.
