(KAIR) -- Around six thousand Westar Energy customers in Atchison County were in the dark for around a half an hour Wednesday morning following a power outage.
According to Westar Spokesperson Shane Batchelder, the outage was reported shortly before 9:50 a.m., and largely affected customers in the northeast portion of the city of Atchison.
Batchelder says power was restored to most customers by 10:20.
He says the outage is being attributed to an equipment malfunction.
