(KAIR) -- Several hundred in Atchison County were cited over the past two weeks as part of the “Click it or Ticket” Special Traffic Enforcement Program.
A bulk of them occurred in the city of Atchison.

That’s Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says their campaign in the county, which was much smaller in nature, also proved to be successful.

STEP is executed in coordination with the Kansas Department of Transportation in which participating agencies get grant monies for purchase of various items for the force.
Laurie aims to use grant dollars to purchase new radars, cameras or other equipment for patrol vehicles.
The enforcement period ran from May 20th through June 2nd.
