(KTNC) - The Nemaha County Nebraska Commission approved resolutions to vacate portions of two county roads following public hearings last week.
One is County Road #180 and the other was County Road #49. Bob Nowack told commissioners that he wanted county road 49 to be closed, due to problems he has been having with people using the road to access the Nemaha River, driving over his crops and littering.
Myron Gerdes and Cathy Beutler, with the Auburn Senior Center Meals Program met with the board regarding the shortage of funds for the program. Gerdes indicated the meal program has been short of funding for several years, and asked the county to increase its contribution. The board took no action on the request.
Commissioners did approve the Four County Comprehensive Juvenile Services Plan, which covers Nemaha, Johnson, Pawnee, and Richardson Counties and runs through December 31, 2015. Nemaha County’s matching fund dollars for the program amount to $2,303.
The board also authorized Commissioner Dennis Wittman to work out an agreement with Nemaha NRD General Manager Bob Hilske on the cost to replace a fence for a landowner affected by the Buck Creek Bridge Replacement project.
