(KTNC) - A Falls City man is charged with arson, after authorities say he tried to set a mailbox on fire.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, 42-year-old Steven Spinner is charged with 3rd degree arson, D.U.I., and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Spinner allegedly poured gasoline on a bush beside a mailbox in the 800-block of Pacific Street early in the morning hours of May 9th, and tried to set the mailbox on fire. Authorities note that it was raining at the time.
Spinner refused to submit to a field sobriety test at the scene, though the arresting officer says in the affidavit that Spinner’s speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol.
An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Steven Spinner on June 3rd in Richardson County Court.
