(KNZA)--A questionable sales solicitatation made by telephone raises red flags for the Hiawatha Police Department.
Chief John Defore says a Hiawatha resident received the call this week, with the caller offering the sale of a home security system erroneously stated to be endorsed by Defore's department.
Due to the unfactual claim, Defore says the legitimacy of the caller must be questioned.
Defore says if anyone receives the phone solicitatation for the alarm system they should provide the caller with no information, and certainly make no purchase, based on the questionable methods being used for the sales attempt.
