( KMZA )-Officials in the Archdiocese of Kansas City say a former Marysville priest faces an allegation of child abuse.
The diocese says Father Anthony Putti, who is currently a priest in the diocese of Gunter, India, was named in a complaint earlier this month.
The complaint was made to the Safe Environment Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Kansas City. The diocese reported the complaint to the Kansas Department for Children and Families, local law enforcement and an independent review board.
The diocese didn’t specify when the alleged abuse occurred.
Putti denies the allegations.
Putti was assigned to St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville and St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Beattie in 2008. He left in 2010.
In September 2010, Putti resigned his pastoral duties and was recalled to his home diocese after admitting to sexual relations with an adult who had requested privacy in the matter.
