Pottawatomie Co Man Facing Charges after Chase

 ( KMZA )--A Pottawatomie County man is facing charges following a chase in a stolen vehicle early Friday morning.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riot says Sgt. Dale Rice with the sheriff’s department attempted to stop a Chevy Suburban in Emmett shortly before 1:30 Friday morning. The vehicle accelerated away for a few blocks and stopped on Crystal Springs Road at Highway 63.
The vehicle then backed into the Rice’s  patrol car, disabling it.
The officer wasn’t hurt, but the suspect escaped.
After an investigation, the suspect was determined to be 46-year-old Andrew Schindler, of St. Marys.
The vehicle Schindler was driving had allegedly been stolen from a home in St. Marys.
The St. Mary’s police Department along with the sheriff’s deputy and a Kansas Highway Patrol tracking dog pursued Schindler in a wooded area south of St. Marys.
About 10:45 Friday morning, Schindler was located and arrested.
He was booked into the Pottawatomie County Jail on charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, theft and felony fleeing and eluding 
Bond has been set at $50,000.
