Grimm also discussed with commissioners a cost estimate for the installation of a splash park at the municipal pool. The cost was estimated at nearly $68,000. He said the cost is high because new water and sewer lines would have to be installed for the project. In addition, he said they would have to go under the pool deck to get electricity to the splash park.
Grimm said the cost could be cut in at least half by installing the splash park at a different location. Starr Park was suggested as a possible location.
Following discussion, commissioners directed Grimm to gather more information and come back to the commission. In addition, input will be sought from the Recreation Advisory Committee.
