(KAIR) -- The Atchison County Sheriff’s Department will make another upgrade to their fleet.
In a much shorter meeting of County Commissioners Wednesday, they approved the purchase of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado from Lewis Chevrolet for 28 thousand 899 dollars.
However, Commissioner Jeff Schuele says it’s not as much out of the pocket of the Sheriff’s department.

This will be the third vehicle upgrade as the department already had budgeted and purchased two new Chevrolet Tahoes in an effort to cycle out the remaining Ford Crown Victoria’s.
Commissioners also authorized IT Director Wes Lanter to create one internet network between the courthouse and the law enforcement center for up to 26 hundred dollars.
Currently the two buildings operate on different servers.
