(KAIR) -- Jefferson County has named a temporary Emergency Management Director.
Commissioners this week hired Oskaloosa resident Daryl Chess to fill that position for at least two months.
Chess replaces Doug Schmitt, who recently left the post to take a new position out of the state.
The 20 hour a week position includes a salary $23,000, but with no health insurance benefits.
Chess has been assisting Schmitt for the past three years.
