(KTNC) - Northwest Missouri residents can provide their feedback as the Department of Transportation determines priorities for the future of the state’s transportation system.
MoDOT has scheduled two “listening sessions” next week – Tuesday, April 9 in Maryville and Thursday, April 11 in St. Joseph.
MoDOT Customer Relations Manager Melissa Black says they listening sessions are a way for all Missourians to help determine priorities for the future of the state’s transportation system – especially in the face of dwindling budgets over the next few years. She says they’re looking for feedback in several areas. (play audio :47)
Both meetings will be held from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m., with registration at 5:30. The Maryville listening session will be held at the Maryville Community Center, at 1407 North Country Club Road, Suite 200. The St. Joseph session will be held at the Fulkerson Center on the Missouri Western campus.
Business leaders, local government and community organizations will participate in the sessions, which are also open to the public. Black says if you plan to attend, you don’t have to stay for the entire session, but it is important to be there at the beginning. (play audio :24)
Seating is limited at each session, so if you’d like to attend, you should RSVP by noon the day before each session by e-mailing onthemove@modot.mo.gov or by visiting the website, www.missourionthemove.org.
Black says those who can’t attend the meetings but are interested in providing input can do so through the On the Move website.
