(KLZA) The Falls City, City Council received a quarterly update from Falls City Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Director Eric Barr.
In less than a year on the job Barr has been busy submitting a number of grant applications. ( play audio :13 seconds )
Barr says that he is also organizing a leadership program to help develop persons to work with projects. ( play audio :15)
Another grant application approved by the City would help in efforts to receive another large grant in the future for more work on the downtown area. ( play audio :15 seconds )
Barr also noted he hopes to learn later this summer, if parts of Falls City will be accepted as an historic district. He explained for the Council the benefits of such a designation. ( play audio :27 seconds )
Councilman Don Ferguson suggested the Council try moving the start time of the meeting on the third Monday of the month to 6 p-m. ( play audio :29 seconds )
After discussion the Council voted to have the City Attorney prepare and ordinance to change the start time of the second meeting of the month to 6 p-m.
