Atchison Teen Gets Prison on Counterfeit Charges
03/22/2013

(KAIR) -- An Atchison teen will head to prison for more than two years on charges related to passing counterfeit money.

Keante Green was sentenced to a total of 27 months in prison on two counts of making false information Friday in Atchison County District Court.

He also received a concurrent sentence on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Green and a juvenile were arrested in early December by Atchison Police after incidents where Green passed a fake 100 dollar bill at a local grocery store and attempted to pass counterfeit money at a local restaurant.

Following a traffic stop by police, several counterfeit 100 dollar bills and marijuana were found.
