"Drought Proof Your Farm" Workshop
March 27 at the Blue Building in
Horton, 5:30 – 8:00 pm
Featured Speaker: Dale Strickler, farmer, cattleman and educator. Dale will entertain and
educate you as he describes what to do and what not to do to make the best of a dry situation.
Crop producers will learn about cover crops and other management techniques
that will:
? Improve rainfall infiltration & soil water?holding capacity
? Improve the ability of plants to extract water from the soil
? Reduce evaporation and runoff
? Increase crop rooting depth
Livestock producers will learn how to manage pastures to improve
drought tolerance, use cover crops to grow extra forage and discover feed
resources you didn’t even know you had!
 
A free catered meal will be served 5:30 to 6:30 pm
