(KAIR) -- In a bi-partisan effort, the Atchison County GOP and Democratic Party chairs presented a re-districting map of their own to Atchison County Commissioners Monday afternoon.
Commissioners had a proposal of their own on the table, which Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen says is an effort to balance the three commission districts at around 55 hundred constituents each. ( play audio )
GOP Chair Derek Franklin and Democratic Chair Elizabeth Lane then outlined the bi-partisan proposal, which shoots for a balance between urban and rural populations for each district.

Commissioners instructed GIS Tech Roger Denton to run numbers on the bi-partisan proposal and post it to the county web site later this week at www.atchisoncountyks.org for public view, which will join the two other options already posted.
