( KNZA )--Two suspects charged in the murder of a Mayetta man in January are now being held in Topeka.
The Topeka Capital Journal reports 22-year-old Lloyd Wabaunsee of Mayetta was transferred to the Shawnee County Jail Friday and 22-year-old Desire Shopteese of Topeka was transferred to the jail Saturday.
No reason was given for their transfer from the Jackson County Jail.
Shopteese and Wabaunsee are both charged with second-degree murder in the January 10th shooting death of Kevin Stanley in Mayetta.
The pair were returned to Kansas February 24th after waiving extradition from Polk County, Iowa.
They were arrested January 17th in Urbandale, Iowa after they were found hiding in the trunk of car in a grocery store parking lot.
Shopteese and Wabaunsee have a preliminary hearing set on April 24th in a Jackson County courtroom.
