Richardson County Commissioners Approve Road Project Agreements

 (KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners met with Sheriff Randy Houser and Dennis MaComber, a member of the Nebraska Jail Standards Board on Tuesday.  MaComber was present to discuss the proposed idea of renovating the Armory on the west edge of Falls City into a Jail / Law Enforcement facility.

Commissioners adopted a resolution regarding changes in the procedures for the County payroll and to authorize the option for direct deposit for payroll.

Bids for the mowing of the Courthouse lawn and Armory Grounds for the 2013 mowing season were opened.  Bids were received from Tyler Bek, Sterling Lampe and Scholl Lawn & Landscaping of Falls City and Grimms Gardens of Morrill.  After a review of the bids Commissioners awarded the bid to Sterling Lampe for $100 per mowing at the Courthouse and $45 for the Armory Grounds.  

Commissioners also approved a number of agreements for various road and bridge projects.  A state mandated Professional Services Agreement with Speece-Lewis Engineers was approved for construction engineering services.  

The Board also approved an agreement with Speece – Lewis for Construction Engineering services for the Preston North & South Road and a supplemental agreement with Speece-Lewis Engineers for geotechnical investigation to be conducted by Terracon Consultants at a cost of $6,250 on the Humboldt Northwest Bridge Project was approved.
