(KNZA)--A preliminary hearing is now set for the 24-year-old Horton man accused of illegal sexual relations with a child.
Wyatt Brown was formally charged Monday with a single felony count of aggravated criminal sodomy, which carries a potential life sentence.
During his first appearance in a Brown County Courtroom, Attorney Andy Delaney was appointed to represent Brown, and the preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 13th.
He's currently jailed in Brown County on bond of $750,000.
The victim is identified only as a child born in 2002.
Brown was arrested Saturday morning following an investigation headed up by the Horton Police Department and assisted by the Brown County Sheriff's Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Brown is a registered sex offender, convicted in Brown County in 2006 on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with an 11-year-old girl.
