(KTNC) - Nemaha County Nebraska Commissioners approved the One and Six Year Road Plan when they met Wednesday.
Highway Superintendent Mark Mainelli presented the plan following a public hearing. No one commented on the plan during the hearing.
In other business, the Board approved a proposal from Hein Construction to crack seal Industrial Park Road and Cooper Nuclear Road south of Brownville in the amount of $19,750.
The Board adopted a resolution to set load limit restrictions and permits for traffic on Nemaha County Roads. Commissioners voted to establish a $150 permit fee for oversized vehicles and loads.
The Board adopted a resolution supporting a coalition of counties seeking funding to limit stream degradation in southeast Nebraska.
Luke Winkelman of the Peru Fire Department and Ron Bergmann of the Nemaha Rural Fire Department visited with the Board about land in the county that is not included in a rural fire district. The board will hold a public hearing sometime before June 1st to place the land in either the Peru Rural Fire District or the Nemaha Rural Fire District.
