( KNZA )- The Brown County Sheriffs office has launched a new website intended to create a simple method for providing information to the public.
The website, which can be found at www.brownso.org, pays tribute to Brown County Deputy Todd Widman who was killed in the line of duty March 1, 2000.
Sheriff John Merchant said among the particular items of interest on the website is the jail inmate portion, which will allow the public to see who is currently being held in our facility. Merchant said it will also list the sex offenders registered in Brown County and allows the public to be able to search those with active warrants.
Merchant said they also have a contact portion where the public can contact key personnel within the Sheriffs office by e-mail.
He said there are many other aspects of the website that he encourages the public to explore.
Merchant said they were able to secure a grant to fund a majority of the website. He said the Website has been worked on for many months and is still not 100%, but is up and running with more additions to be added in the near future.
