It was just in recent weeks that the company which owns the Horton Community Hospital, HMC/CAH Consolidated, Inc., announced they have emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, following 15 months of reorganization efforts.
Barlow says that fact is the key financially when it comes to making a new hospital a reality(Play Audio)
Plans for the new hosptial have been years in the making, with the City of Horotn having already expended time, and money, installing sewer hookups to the planned site of construction.
Barlow says that location, on the north edge of Horton, along U.S. Highway 73, remains the same, but a timeline for when a groundbreaking could possibly be held remains up in the air.
