(KAIR) -- Over 12 hundred city of Atchison trash customers will soon have the new poly cart in their driveway.
City Commissioners Tuesday afternoon signed off for approval on 634 more 96 gallon Toter poly carts as part of the overhaul of their trash service.
The next round of carts will be for all of Monday and most of Tuesday customers.
City Manager Trey Cocking says those customers should receive their carts in around six weeks.
Commissioners also got a progress update on proposed renovations to the Heritage Conference Center.
Design architect Jay Zimmerschied (Zimmer-sheed) says the estimate renovation schedule of masonry and the HVAC system is still on pace for a Summer 2014 completion, but they have pushed back the next phase.

Actual renovations are expected to start June 1st and discussions are still ongoing if the building will be closed to the public at some point during the project.
If it is, Zimmerschied says the completion time on the project would lower significantly.
Commissioners also unanimously approved an amended ordinance for a 313 thousand dollar lease purchase agreement with UMB Bank for a joint project with Atchison County and Atchison Hospital to install a voice over internet phone system.
Commissioners Rita Hartman and Larry Purcell expressed hesitation initially on the original ordinance, citing concerns on origination fees.
However, an elastic clause was inserted, giving the Commission the option to wave the hospital’s portion of the fee at a later date.
