(KAIR) -- An Atchison man accused of severely beating a 55-year old man at an Atchison residence last October has been transported to Atchison County to face charges.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, Charles Paradise waived extradition in Buchanan County Court on Friday and was brought to Atchison Monday morning.
He was arrested on an Atchison County District Court warrant on January 7th after Atchison Police were actively seeking him for about a month.
He’s facing charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and aggravated battery.
Paradise made his first appearance Monday afternoon in Atchison County District Court.
He’s hired Kansas City lawyer P.J. O’Connor and will make his next appearance on February 25th.
The victim in the case, Rusty Folsom, died on January 14th.
It’s currently unclear if Folsom’s death was attributed to the crime allegedly committed by Paradise.
County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman says he’s awaiting the final coroner’s report for review.
