(KNZA)--A search warrant is served Monday afternoon in Topeka, with authorities saying property, allegedly stolen from Mayetta, was recovered and one arrest made.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says his office, assisted by the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office, served the search warrant at 1836 Northwest Winter Street in Topeka.
That stemmed from the investigation launched Saturday when a self-storage unit, near Mayetta, was burglarized, and 15-hundred dollars worth of property stolen.
Taken into custody is 20-year-old Topeka resident Austin James Rogers, arrested on charges of burglary and theft. Booked into the Jackson County Jail, Rogers is held on bond of 35-thousand-dollars.
Morse says a second suspect, identified as Rogers' uncle, 49-year-old Walter Eugene Rogers, is also being sought in connection with the burglary. Currently, the whereabouts of the Topeka resident remain unknown.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 785-364-2251.
Jackson County authorities Tuesday located a gold colored 2001 Chevy Blazer believed to have been used in Saturday's burglary.
