(KNZA)--The search will soon begin for a new Chapter Executive Director for the Midland Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross.
That word from Sharon Kennedy, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Saint Joseph based organization, which oversees portions of the local area, including Brown, Doniphan and Atchison Counties.
The vacancy is created because Kevin Kirby, who has served as Executive Director for nearly 18-years, has accepted a new position within the American Red Cross as Gift Planning Officer for the Kansas City Region.
Kennedy says Kirby has done an incredible job during his time as Executive Director, saying he will be greatly missed.
However, Kirby says he won't be going far, remaining based out of the Saint Joseph office.
The search for a new Executive Director will be begin in mid-February and is exptected to take approximately three months.
