( KNZA )-- The Jackson County Commission has agreed to provide financial assistance to the Holton/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce for an electronic billboard sign located at the junction of Highways 75 and 16 in Holton.
The commission Monday voted to enter into an agreement with the Chamber for the onetime payment of $10,000 from the County Alcohol Fund.
For consideration of the onetime payment, the Chamber will post seven anti-drinking advertisements per day on the digital sign as long as the Chamber is responsible for the sign.
Representatives of the Chamber last week asked for funding from the county to help make the two payments on the sign.
Last year, the commission helped provide funding for the sign with a payment of nearly 59-hundred dollars.
