(KTNC) - A man suspected of leading officers from Richardson and Brown Counties on a high-speed chase earlier this month is in custody.
Officers from the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department and Falls City Police Department arrested 37-year-old William Holbrooks, without incident, last Friday evening at 2002 Wilson Street in Falls City.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Holbrooks on January 18th, following a lengthy pursuit in Richardson and Brown Counties on January 11th.
The chase, involving a stolen Kia, started in Falls City, went into Brown County, and ended when the vehicle was abandoned in a farmyard in the rural Barada area. Two people in the vehicle fled on foot.
One occupant was apprehended later that night when he sought aid at a nearby farmhouse due to inclement weather. He was questioned by authorities and released.
Holbrooks made an initial appearance in Richardson County Court on Monday. His bond was set at $40,000. He remains in the Richardson County Jail awaiting further court proceedings.
