Falls City Jaycees Present Distinguished Service Awards

(KTNC) -  The Falls City Jaycees presented awards and donations to individuals and community organizations during the annual Distinguished Service Awards Banquet, held at the Elk’s Lodge, Monday night.
With Madaline Wilhelm serving as emcee, the Jaycees presented six awards to deserving individuals for their service to the community.
The Hugh O’Brian Youth Awards were presented to Elizabeth Magdanz of Falls City Sacred Heart and Baylee Vrtiska of Falls City High School.
Last year’s winner Vesta Linderman presented the Good Neighbor award to Jim and Linda Beckner.
Sue Nutzman was the recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award.
Kathy Bartek was presented with the Robert J. Chab Community Service Award.
Doug Kirkendall won the Outstanding Community Leader Award.
And Jason Scott was the winner of the Distinguished Service Award.
No nominations were received for “Boss of the Year,” so that award was not presented.
Following the Distinguished Service Awards, the Jaycees presented 22 community organizations with a total of $9,000.  Money is raised through various Jaycees events, including the Demolition Derby, Tractor Pull, and Fireworks Stand.
Jaycees officers for 2013 include President Chris Fischer, and Vice-President Shawn Fouraker.  Other officers are Jenna Frederick, Ali Mullins, David Goff, Jessica Fischer, Brian Evans, and Kaytlyn Kennedy.
