Valley Falls Patrons Ask Board for School Safety Examination

(KAIR) -- Many concerned patrons from the Valley Falls area attended Monday night’s USD 338 school board meeting concerned about school safety.

This comes in the wake of the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut last month.

Superintendent Loren Feldkamp says the district hopes to work with legislative and school leaders to improve any lagging policies.

State Representative Ramon Gonzalez was also in attendance to listen to concerns from the crowd.

Also, he board continued the discussion of renovating the school’s football field and track.

Feldkamp says the board has received drawings and are putting out bids to possibly re-locate the press box.

The board also held preliminary discussions on next year’s budget and a special meeting has been set for February 9th to go over projections.
