(KTNC) - Holt County Commissioners will hold their annual budget hearing at 10:00 a.m. this coming Monday.
Commissioners began working on the budget in earnest in mid-December, and continue to meet with elected officials to fine tune the budget. County Clerk Kathy Kunkel says it’s pretty much a status quo budget. (play audio :36)
Kunkel says Commissioners will meet late this week to make a couple final decisions – regarding pay raises and mileage reimbursement.
Kunkel also anticipates an adjustment to the expenditures for the county’s 9-1-1 system, as they move to implement Phase Two wireless communication.
Holt County’s 9-1-1 upgrades are being funded by a quarter-cent sales tax implemented in 2009, and Kunkel says that fund has been built to the point where they can proceed to the next phase in upgrading the system. (play audio :10)
Kunkel says she’s pleased with the budget and she anticipates commissioners will approve it following Monday’s hearing.
