(KTNC) - The Pawnee City, City Council got the fiscal year 2011-2012 Audit report when they met last Friday. City Clerk Tammy Stephens says Auditor Julie Bauman gave the city a favorable report. (play audio :24)
The audit report is due to the State of Nebraska in March.
The Pawnee City Council held more discussion on the designated truck route, and truck parking in town. At issue is that some trucks, with loaded trailers, have been driven on city streets. Stephens says some truck drivers met with the council Friday evening. (play audio :47)
The council will discuss the matter again in January. Stephens says the city streets are not built to handle fully loaded semis. (play audio :17)
In other business Friday, the Pawnee City Council approved the first reading of three ordinances presented by the League of Nebraska Municipalities, that City Attorney Joe Stehlik recommended the city approve.
One ordinance adds harassment of a police animal as an offense; another requires approval of the city council for certain Library Board actions; and the third ordinance designates the County Treasurer to collect and credit motor vehicle fees. (play audio :22)
The council unanimously approved a resolution to authorize the mayor and city clerk to sign USDA documents pertaining to the assisted living project. A second resolution was approved to authorize the mayor to sign agreement between the city and Department of Roads regarding improvements to Highway 50 in Pawnee City.
Stephens says the council also approved an increase to the Sewer Discharge Permit limit for C-J Foods, following an inquiry from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. (play audio :25)
The council action increases the maximum average discharge for C-J Foods from 80 to 110 pounds.
And the Pawnee City Council also gave its support for Five Rivers R-C-and-D’s grant application for a Household Hazardous Waste Collection.
