(KAIR) -- Atchison County Sheriff’s Department personnel were kept busy of the holiday period, responding to several incidents.
The first was over the weekend when a car was found abandoned near 238th and Allen Road in north Atchison County.
Undersheriff Larry Myer says it was later discovered to have been reported stolen out of Topeka.
The second was the report of a theft of a flatbed trailer belonging to Charles Vollmer stolen from his rural Atchison residence on Dickinson Road in between December 18th and 22nd.
The third incident was a fight that occurred in Atchison County Jail on Christmas Eve between John Portis and Christopher Blanchard.
Myer says neither was hospitalized and that the argument was apparently over food.
The incident was reported to the County Attorney for potential prosecution.
