( KNZA )-Doniphan County Commissioners have adopted new zoning and subdivision regulations for the unincorporated areas of the county.
The commission took the action today ( Monday ) on the recommendation of the Doniphan County Regional Planning Commission.
Zoning Administrator Julie Meng said the Planning Commission met on November 28th to consider repealing the existing regulations that have been in place since August 1965 and following a public hearing recommended the new regulations be adopted.
In other business, two representatives with Deffenbaugh Industries met with commissioners to discuss extending the current contract with Doniphan County for operation of the county transfer station located on St. Columbus Road.
County Attorney Charles Baskins requested an extension of time until January 31st for the commission to hold discussions on the matter.
Commissioners were informed that Deffenbaugh Industries will close the county transfer station this Saturday for maintenance. It will reopen to the public next Monday, December 24th.
