The board approved a contract with Kim Nolte to replace Kottich. Nolte has been teaching in the district as a long-term substitute for the past two semesters.
In other action Monday night, the board approved the first reading of a district policy pertaining to the physical restraint and seclusion of students.
The board also voted to recognize the Falls City Education Association as the bargaining agent for the 2014-2015 Contract Year.
Ellen Stokebrand and Mitzi Hoback with ESU 4 gave a presentation to the board, explaining the many services the ESU provides to school districts.
Those include health services, support services, professional development, special education, technology, and career academies.
The board also met in executive session for the Superintendent evaluation.
