(KAIR) -- A crowd of at least 100 listened to music on the recorder from ACES fourth graders as they awaited the arrival of Santa in downtown Atchison for the Third annual Christmas Tree Lighting.
At around 5:45 Thursday evening, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived and passed out candy canes for kids.
Then at six, they flipped the switch, which illuminated the 500 block of Commercial Street with light.
Several children waited in line to greet Santa, and some shared their Christmas wish list.

Santa will listen to children’s wish lists for Christmas on November 24th, and December 1st, 8th and 15th from 10 until one.
