(KAIR) -- A co-ed extension of a Scouting program for young men and women is gaining momentum in Northeast Kansas service organizations.
Several “Venture” crews are showing up in the Kanza District, comprised of Atchison, Brown, and Doniphan counties.
Venture Coordinator for the Kanza District, Dennis Draper says there are five crews so far.

Draper says the crews are mainly youth-led.

Another event the Kanza District hosted for the first time last year was “Venture Quest,” focusing on major fields.
