10/12/2012

(KLZA) The Nemaha County, Nebraska Sheriff’s Department responded to a one vehicle accident Friday morning on Highway 136 about a quarter miles east of the intersection with 6464 Avenue.

The Sheriff's Department said 40-year-old Christine Hembree of Tonopah, Arizona suffered possible but not visible injuries when the 2006 Subaru wagon she was driving left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Hembree said she was reaching for her phone, ran off the road, overcorrected and ran off the road again.  The vehicle slid sideways and struck the pole causing the car to overturn. The car was estimated to be totaled.

The Nemaha Rescue Squad responded to the scene of the accident, but Hembree was not transported to a medical facility.

No citations were issued.
