( KNZA )--A three-judge panel of the Kansas Court of Appeals will convene in Hiawatha next Tuesday to hear arguments in five appeals.
The hearing panel includes Judges Henry Green Jr., Christel Marquardt, and Retired Judge Patrick Brazil. In addition to the cases argued in Hiawatha, the panel also will decide the outcome of 22 other appeals that have been submitted for decision without oral argument.
Included in the session will be appeals of a second-degree murder conviction in Shawnee County, and an involuntary manslaughter conviction in Leavenworth County.
The 13-member Court sits throughout the state in panels of three, and last year resolved 17-hundred appeals.
The Court of Appeals will convene at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning in the Brown County Courthouse.
