(KNZA)--Citing the first meeting held by founder Juliette Gordon Low, Kansas Senator Sam Brownback signs a proclamation recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts of America.
Brownback's proclamation refers to the organization's membership in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, and the fact that Girl Scouts USA is part of worldwide family of 10 million girls from 145 countries.
Stating that the organization develops courage, confidence and character, Brownback, in the proclamation, encourages all state residents to recognize the anniversary of the organization which Brownback calls the largest, longest-running and most effective leadership organization for girls.
