(KNZA)--The emergency siren sounded in Horton just minutes before 3:40 Thursday morning, following the report of a house fire in the community.
Police Chief Beau Hasenohr says crews rushed to the scene, at 400 East 10th Street, battling the blaze engulfing the home.
The Horton Police and Fire Departments, the Brown County Rescue Squad, Horton Ambulance and the Kansas State Fire Marshall's Office all assisted.
Once the fire was extinguished, the house was considered a total loss.
Hasenohr says there were no injuries.
The home, owned by Karen Coffman, was currently unoccupied.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
