( KNZA )-- The Highland Community College Board of Trustees has selected a rural Troy man to fill a vacancy on the board. Carl Tharman was unanimously selected during the board’s regular meeting this month to fill the vacant position created by the resignation of former board member Russell Karn of Highland.
Tharman was among three Doniphan County residents who completed the application materials for the position. All three were interviewed by the Board during a special meeting last month. Tharman is an HCC alumnus, as are three of his children. A longtime resident of Doniphan County, Tharman is a loan officer at Union State Bank in Everest and also farms.
He will begin his tenure with the Board at the October meeting.
