It was a cross country meet featuring a multitude of Delaware Valley league schools and Atchison from the Kanzaland area when ACCHS hosted a meet back on Tuesday.
It was both the Atchison Redmen and the Riverside Cyclones highlighting the meet capturing the top spots in the girls and boys competitions, respectively and placing the most runners in each top 10 combined on the day, also. Both schools finished with six runners in the top 10 in both the boys and girls competitions combined.
Sarah Jaloma of Atchison took the crown in the girls 4K competition with a 20+ second win; she was followed by one of the host school, ACCHS's runners, Madison Bissell who took second. Bissell was joined in the top five performances by fellow Tigers, Mackenize and Maddison Forbes with fourth and fifth place finishes, while Riverside's Morgan Ruhl finished in third place.
On the boys side it was Riverside Cyclone, Dylan Gabriel winning the crown by around 19 seconds, outdueling Valley Falls Dragon, Hunter Hosler who took second. Gabriel's teammate, Brandon Wolfing finished third, giving the Cylcones two of the top three individual spots. Rounding out the top five was two Atchison Redmen as Alex Howard and Andrew Adrian finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
As far as the team finishes shook out it was Atchison taking first in the boys competition, with Riverside coming in second and McLouth taking third. On the girls side ACCHS took home the team crown, with Tonganoxie second and Troy third.
