(KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners have received resumes from six individuals interested in the vacant county treasurer position.
Board members reviewed resumes Tuesday and will conduct interviews next Tuesday, September 11th, to select finalists who will continue with an interview at a special meeting on Thursday, September 13th at 9 a-m.
The person selected will be appointed to fulfill the unexpired term of Connie Kennedy who resigned as county treasurer last month due to health reasons.
In other business, County Attorney Bob Meyer met with the commissioners in executive session to discuss potential litigation. Following the closed session, it was noted that a counteroffer of $700,000 to settle a claim for damage done to a bridge northwest of Humboldt in April of this year has been offered to the insurance company for Hiawatha-based Ag Partners Cooperative. The offer stipulates the counteroffer will remain open for two weeks from August 31st.
