(KTNC) - An Oregon, Missouri, woman was injured when another vehicle swerved in front of her car on Interstate 29 Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Patrol says Phillis Hayes was driving north on the interstate, about 11 miles north of St. Joseph, just before noon Saturday, when another vehicle changed lanes in front of her. Hayes swerved to avoid a collision and the P-T Cruiser she was driving went off the east side of the roadway.
Hayes then overcorrected, and her vehicle swerved off the west side of the roadway, struck a rock embankment, and spun back onto the highway, coming to rest partly in the northbound driving lane.
Hayes was taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph for treatment of what were described as moderate injuries. The P-T Cruiser sustained extensive damage.
The Andrew County Sheriff’s Department and Savannah Rural Fire Department assisted the Missouri State Patrol at the scene of the accident.
