A multitude of Kanzaland schools cross country teams particapted in the Jeff West Invite, yesterday and there were plenty of top flight individual performances, as well as team performances.
On the girls side of the competition five of the top 10 individual performances were from Kanzaland area schools, including first place. ACCHS Tiger, Madison Bissell captured the event event crown as it was a 4K-run for the girls competition. Track star, Conner Starder from Holton took home third place, while Sabetha Bluejays had individual top 10 performers finish fourth, sixth and eighth. Miranda Huettner, Taryn Schuette and Megan Plattner finished in those performances respectively.
For the boys it was a 5K-run; the top 10 was dominated by Christ Prep Academy but two Kanzaland area runners made it into the top 10. Sabetha's, Trenton Cox took home second place, while Thomas Broxterman rounded out the top 10 with a tenth place finish.
For the overall team finishes it was Christ Prep Academy dominating the meet, taking first in both the girls and boys competition, with a multitude of Top 10 finishers. Sabetha took second as a team for the girls behind their three top 10 finishes, while KC East Christian rounded out the top three. For the boys Royal Valley came in second, followed by the host Jeff West Tigers in third.
