( KNZA )-- Prairie Hill’s USD 113 will continue to offer a summer’s driver’s education course, but will make adjustments due to new regulations.
In the past, Superintendent Bill Orth said 8th graders who took the course in June would be able to receive .5 credit which would carry over into the high school.
With the new federal and state regulations, Orth says 8th grade students who take the course will receive a grade but no credit. If the student takes the course during his or her high school years then a .5 credit will be awarded.
The USD 113 board of education approved the change during a special meeting Monday evening
