( KNZA )-The Doniphan County Commission Wednesday during a special meeting approved a change to the overlay project on Last Chance Road.
The commission voted to allow the contractor on the project, Herzog Contracting Corporation, to change the type of asphalt to be used. A percentage of the asphalt will be made of a recycled asphalt material at a cost reduction of 25-thousand dollars.
The Kansas Department of Transportation and project engineer, David Beach with Scwab-Eaton, had both given their approval to the change.
The commission signed a notice for Herzog Contracting to proceed for the project, beginning Thursday ( August 23rd ) with an estimated completion date not to exceed 45 days, on or before October 7th.
